My Dress Form

July 28, 2009 10:21 am

SO, you know I’ve been pining for a dress form. But I just haven’t found one in my budget. So I decided to make my own! I used this tutorial. My brother did it for me :) It was soooo hillarious, I should have taken pictures. Anyhow, it came out pretty good! It will definitely suffice till I can get a real one. I covered it in muslin because the red duct tape just looked so creepy.
Here’s a dress I designed that I’m working on now.
I’m still working on the straps, but after that, it’s almost done.
This week is a little crazy for me. I’m making a Snow White costume for my three year olds birthday on Monday, wokring on a couple custom orders and working on the pattern for the flower shirt. So bear with me as my own creative postings will be a little slower.

I’m SO excited about the flower shirt pattern. It’s coming along nicely!
I’m retesting the pattern right now to make sure it all correlates well. I have to finish designing my logo then it will be finding a printer, making a cover, printing instructions, etc… So I’m progressing along. Thanks for all you support and encouragement. It is so helpful!!

I've been meaning to make myself a duct tape dress form for awhile, I picked bright blue tape :)

Are you looking for any pattern testers? I'd love to volunteer! I also hope you make the polka dot shirt into a pattern, it's gorgeous.

Oh very fun! I'm so glad to hear that you're getting started with patterns…I hope some of the info you got is proving useful?

Your dress form is both hilarious AND creepy. (: I was just going to post today about my dress form (which I LOVE), if I get a chance I'll put the post up. The brand is called Uniquely You and you tailor it to your exact dimensions which is cool. Anyway…good luck with your pattern!
