Men’s Shirt to Ruffle Blouse Refashion

October 21, 2009 5:23 am

I did this shirt last week. I took this men’s shirt that I had gotten and tailored it down. With the excess I added ruffles to the front.
I’m excited to wear it under a jacket.

Or myabe I’ll give it to my sister. It looks pretty good on her.

I have some BIG changes coming to my blog! I can’t wait to show you all. It’s really exciting!
I’m working on some big orders this week so my posting may not be too exciting or frequent. Bear with me, my friends :)

You are so talented! I've always wanted to re-fashion store-bought or hand-me-down clothes, but have only tried a couple of times before this year. Lately, I've had some great successes (and learned some lessons the hard way) and I'm having so much fun with it! Thanks for all of the inspiration!!

I really love the boots that are shown with the Hearts of Gold skirt on your etsy shop. Can you tell me where you purchased them?

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!
My husband has graciously donated one of his old shirts so I can refashion it into this… Is the tutorial coming soon? Please please please! *insert pleading and begging* I have too many questions for just comments! — Did the shirt originally have a collar? How did you remove it? What about the sleeves, did you make them slimmer? ???

Yes, tute on this please?! Cooler weather approaching. I think I could wing it, but very curious about your finishing on your ruffles. Serged? Raw? I kind of like the messy finish, but would be afraid I’d literally unravel. Love your blog!

This shirt is beautiful. Did you end up doing a tutorial? I’d really like to try this with one of my husbands old shirts.
