Chanel Ruffle Cuff-I love you.

December 13, 2009 9:31 am

I love these ruffled detailed from Chanel’s recent runway. But they’re a little unwearable for my mommy daily life.
So I’ve been churning in my head- how can I make these functional??
(Disney from Ruffles and Stuff made a cute version seen here)?

This picture helped me to create something super easy and super wearable.

Get a dollar bangle at Target. Just like yesterday’s post!! Cover it in black fabric. I used a dupioni silk.

Get long layers of white fabric. I used chiffon. Fray check the edges so it doesn’t fray too much. You could fold it over, but I like how Chanel’s are slightly frayed.

Ruffle your long pieces.

Glue them to the inside of the bangle so they are sticking out.

After I finished gluing the ruffles to each side of the bangle, I got a piece of lack fabric and glued it on the inside of the bangle to make it look nice and clean.

Voila! Wearable Chanel inspired bangles.

So chic!!

Wouldn’t these look great with one on each wrist?

Have a lovely beginning to your week!

What a nice idea, very pretty. Do you ever use fray check on any of your projects so the fabric doesn't run?

Love this tutorial! I would love to be brave enough to wear a fluffier version like the Chanel cuff, but you are right, this is much more practical in everyday life.

I posted a link to your tutorial on CraftGossip.com

This is so cute. I would like to have this attached to my blouses. Wonder how that could be done simply?

This is an amazing project, I’m definitely going to make some as Christmas presents! That is, if I can bear to part with them when I’m done!

Love this!!! The ruffles are so cute. This would look great with a dressy outfit and a t-shirt and jeans. :) Love those kinds of accessories!

How about using wide band elastic, instead of a bangle?

My daughter has a tatto on the inside of her wrist. Her new
employeer does not allow any body art displayed. Alycia asked me to
make a cover for it. This cuff will work great.

Wide elastic would be wonderful and you could even sew and you could even sew beads or other embellishments to the elastic, wonderful idea Bobbie!!
