Sleeve- Gloves. Sloves??

December 16, 2009 2:06 pm

My hands are so warm I can’t take these things off!!

Here’s a simple project made of old sweaters.

Take two old sleeves and cut them off the sweater.
Mark where you want your thumbs to stick out and cut little holes there.
To decorate them, the possibilities are endless. I took a long ruffle then cut them into little pieces and made little rosettes. You can glue or stitch them on to the sleeve/glove.
Then I put different buttons on.

Now I’m happy and warm!

Gotta love cozy and cute!

Very cute! Did you put elastic at the top to keep them up?

Oh. Why in the world didn't I think of this! My hands are absolutely FREEZING at work, and I have to have my fingers free for typing. I have yet to find a cute pair of fingerless gloves. This idea is PERFECT! Thanks for sharing!

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Thanks for this idea. I absolutely love it and can't wait to start making some. Where do I cut off the sleeves from the sweater? Did you hem the top?
Thank you soooooo much for your continued warm and inspiring work.

I cut mine off below the elbow. I didn't need to hem these because I knew they wouldn't unravel. But you could hem them if you need to!

I want a pair!!! I need to find an old sweater! these are cute and seem simple to make. Considering that I can't use a sewing machine this is perfect. :)

    Alexis Albright!

I have got to tell you that I have recently become a fan of such ‘arts and crafts’ and have been trying to put together some of my own garments just for me to wear and to scratch my itch about designing and making my own clothes or accessories. YOU ARE AMAZING AT WHAT YOU DO!!! I have gone online to find ‘how to’s’ for making rosette’s for clothing detail, ways to have fun with old clothes, etc… you are my new favorite guide to the design world. I am very impressed!!! I would love to come support you and come to your store. I’m going to find out where it is and come on in. I did not even know you were doing all this and I must say WOW! I love it all! Project Runway????? Well good luck to you and I will be back oh so soon to see more. I love it! Congratulations on all your hard work looking fabulous.
