Sweater to Capelet Refashion Tutorial

December 1, 2009 6:26 am

I just love seeing all the capelets and the different takes on them in all the stores. Here’s one you can wear in the winter or spring. (and it will take you all of 10 minutes)
Get a big sweater and turn it upside down. Cut it in half. Sew the piece where you cut it.
Flip it over and put it on!! You can wear it off shoulder,
or symetrical!

I just love these easy to do fashions!

Thanks for this project! I just got a sewing machine and I'm looking for a good newbie project – I have an old pink sweater that just might do the trick! Thanks!

SO cute.. who would have thought ?!
( as a side note.. if you had hand stitched the hem.. & possibley a bit wider hem.. it would lay smoother. )
but still lovely either way :-)

I love this! I made one with ribbon around the edge on the inside so it would blouse out on top. It needs a pink flower on the shoulder I think, but here is the link in case you's like to see it:
