My Creative Other Half
March 31, 2010 2:26 pmMeet my husband, Zach. I don’t know if he’s gonna hate or love that I’m doing this, but oh well!
I think he’s the most intuitively creative person I know. He’s a contractor and he and his brother, Josh, own Meschi Construction, Inc. Together they build some really amazing homes. ( Check them out HERE)

The work he does nevr ceases to amaze me. He has the best eye for design. He is an absolute perfectionist so the craftmanship in his work shows because it’s so hard to find these days. Aside from building homes, he’s designed and built some great furniture for us. I just really wanted to share some of the things that he’s created for us.
This is our dining room table.
He made these mosaic table years ago. He even forged the iron himself!
This is one of my favorite pieces. It’s a red display cabinet that houses some of our favorite treasures.
Here’s a bookshelf he built for the girls.
This is an end table he did.

These are night stands he did for my sister and brother in law when they got married.
He made this gorgeous alter for a chapel.
His work always inspires me because it’s detailed and thorough and he puts all of himself in everything he does. That’s why he’s a big inspiration to me. And him being SO adorable doesn’t hurt, either!

WOW!! I want every single piece of furniture in this post for real! I just turned to my boyfriend and asked him if he’d make me a table like that when we buy our first home. Amazing! (He said “of course”, haha)

Aw, you guys make the perfect match!
)
And a big wow to all those furniture, insane! I am in love with your mosaic table, well in love with mosaics in general, but this one is really pretty! It is made with ♥ and that is what glows from it.
I am also working on one, as in, I’m attempting to turn an old iron Zinger bottom into a mosaic coffee table. We’ll see how it turns out. I’ll try to remember to send you a link when I’m posting about it
But getting back to my point here, you are one incredibly lucky gal’ Lex.
Hugs, Erika

Lex, what a beautiful post! I love seeing women cherish their loved ones instead of reaching that plateau where many seem to take their love for granted. Isn’t it wonderful when we’ve listened to God’s quiet voice and chose the person he designed and crafted to be a perfect match for us? My husband’s patience and tenderness inspire me as a woman. It is a blessing that you shared this with us. I hope Zach blushed!

thank you for sharing your inspiring story. while my husband is far from handy and creative, he is very supportive and tolerant of my attempts at crafting and infinitely patient and loving. he even made me wooden frames for my fabric-covered panels that now hang in my dining room wall, and manfully endured when i pointed out the crooked edges.
