Purple Tunic Dress

March 1, 2010 8:54 am

If you only knew how many times I’ve worn this dress… It’s embarrassing, almost.  I made this dress a couple months ago from this fabric I saw at Harts Fabric. I saw it and fell in love with it and came home to create this tunic dress.

Here, my lovely sister, is modeling it for me. It’s a shorter dress that I wear with boots, leggings or jeans. It’s so comfortable and the fabric is really eye catching.

I don’t have any standing up shots but I have so many designs to post I don’t have any time to retake these.  It has a removable belt so it can be more tailored or loose and flowing. I’ve also worn it with a big leather belt.

It’s a sheer fabric (as you can see ) so I have a slip I wear under it.

It’s the dress I’m wearing in my picture on my “About Me” page.

Hope you all like it! Don’t forget to enter for CocoBijou’s giveaway. And also check out Disney from Ruffle’s and Stuff new craft contest. I’m sure you will love all the cool prizes she’s giving away!!

Things are going to be a little slow for me around here in regards to tutorials this next couple weeks. I’m busy working on a couple really exciting things. Made by Lex is growing! Can’t wait to tell you about it!! But don’t worry- I’ll still be around. I have a lot of designs to post!

Oh my. I LOVE this dress. I want one just like it. Did you design it or follow a pattern? Looks so light and fresh. Any tips for working with jersey knits? I’m nervous about trying that someday soon.

I love this dress. is there any way you would do a tutorial or make a pattern and sell? I would LOVE to make and wear a dress like this- especially since I am not loving my midsection and my budget is very tight!
