Crochet Trim and Harts Winner!

April 12, 2010 12:28 pm

I have ALWAYS loved crochet and lacey trims on tops. I think they are so feminine and can make a t-shirt so much more exciting.

I have been trying to think about way you can find trim to add to tops. I found these great finds at the flea market this week. This great old doile…

…adn this crochet pillowcase.

I cut off a strip and sewed it on to this t-shirt. Isn’t it lovely?

All you do is pin it and stitch it directly on!

THEN!! I went in to Harts this week and found this!

They are selling an array of crochet bibs This was only $5! Think about this on a T!   I don’t think they are on the website but if you call them I’m sure they can ship one to you! How beautiful is that?

Finally, the randomly chosen winner of a yard of fabric from Harts is….

Melissa Wingo!!

Keep checking their blog and website for ever changing fabrics, updates and giveaways!

That’s really cute! I have a question, how do you keep it from falling apart once you cut it off from the rest of the doile?

I used a zig zag stitch so all the ends were bound down!

I love crochets!!! I just went through my mom’s clothes (from when she was my age) at my grandma’s and I came across some insane dresses (both crochets and embroideries)! So excited!
But I love how you cut off a strip of that fist crochet pillowcase and zigzag stitched it so it won’t fall apart. I’ll have to try that. It looks great on the T.
    Hugs, Erika

I was just going to post about these on my blog! we’ll see if I ever get around to it, but great minds think alike! oh and I die mine sometimes, which looks really pretty. you should try it!

I absolutely LOVE the t-shirt with the doily piece on it! It gets me to thinking: don’t have any old doilies, but I could just make crochet something similar and sew it on a shirt…. Well, I know what my next project is going to be. :)
