Aqua Bib front Top Refashion
June 14, 2010 3:13 pmHere’s a refashion that’s super easy that adds a lot of texture and interest to a plain top!
Here’s How:
Cut some strips of fabric. Mine were about 2.5 inches wide.
Ruffle them on each side of the strip.
They will look like this:
When you have quite a few done, begin pinning them around the collar.
Keep going until you have it like so:
Then, just sew them on! Make sure the rows are butted right up against each other so no part of the t-shirt will show through the strips of fabric.
Here’s the finished result:

Does your sewing machine automatically ruffle for you? I’ve been doing ruffling thr long way where I was leave extra thread after I sew a straight line and slowly move the fabric across the thread. I am so scared that I’ll break it! If you know an easier or even fast way please let me know. I am new at sewing. Thanks!

I was also wondering what stitch you were using to make the ruffle because I can only think of the way Justine mentioned, sewing a straght line and then moving the fabric.

I love this but I’m dying to grab a few silver seed beads and sew them randomly across through out the aqua. I think it would be so fun!
