Wardrobe Staples- The Classic White Shirt
July 28, 2010 8:11 pmI rarely buy trendy items. I like many trends, but prefer to put money towards staples- things I’ll wear for a long time.
Staple #1 in my closet- The classic white shirt.
I wonder how many 10′s of 1,ooo’s of blog posts have been done on this classic item. But it’s one of my favorites and had to make it my first intro to my wardrobe staples.
I have one that is fitted and a more feminine silhouette. I love it with leggings and flats.
I also have an oversized one that I love with boots. It amazes me that somethingso large and comfortable can be so chic.
I also love it with no pants. Around the house of course.
Or over a bathing suit.
Is there anything better?
What’s your number one wardrobe staple?

Same idea, but my staple is a big roomy sweater thin enough to wear all the time but cozy for winter too. Or pantsless…around the house : ) love the Audrey photos!

would you please share the brand of your classic white shirts? I’ve been on the lookout for one for awhile that isn’t so thin. You wouldn’t think something so classic would be so hard to find!

V-neck white t-shirt and a dark blue pair of straight legged jeans!

Absolutely the white shirt, but also black pants, black skirt, and a pair of jeans. With these 4 pieces and some accessories, you don’t need much else.

My gathered, scoop-neck, white tee that is very flattering. I wear it alone or with cardigans, jeans or skirts.

My fitted one is J. Crew. It’s very lightweight and tissue-y. My big white one is from the thrift store. I just found a smaller mens’ one that’s a really nice European brand and I love it!

IMHO you can’t have too many white tops or black bottoms. I have several of each…but the classic black pencil skirt and white shirt does it for me.

My crazy cool snakeskin black flats, obviously not to be worn all-alone but they are so versatile and can really pull any outfit together.
