Leather Bomber Jacket Refashion

September 8, 2010 8:29 am

First off, thank you all for your sweet support on my Fall Collection. Since you have all been along with me on this journey, I couldn’t wait to share it with all my amazing supporters. Now, Back to business…

I found this “leather” coat that I thought was really cute. I liked the cut of it and the cute details it had.

It had this cute ruffled collar on it.  But I loooove versatility in pieces.

I really like the way a bomber collar looks on leather jackets, but I know I wouldn’t want it there all the time. So here’s what I did…

I went to the Thrift Store and found another jacket that had a collar that I liked on it. I cut it off the jacket.

Then I took the one side of the button strip that was down the front of the thrift store jacket and sewed it to the collar.

Then I sewed the back part of the button strip on the inside of the jacket’s collar.

Now I can snap it on whenever I want the bomber collar look!

I love the high collar in the back.

Have a Tim Gunn moment and “Make it work”.  :)

I have this jacket in white! Very cute collar that you added. I will have to say though that my favorite part of my jacket is the ruffle :)
