I Need Fall Craft Ideas, please.

October 8, 2010 7:39 am

I though I would come to you to ask you to share any fall crafts with me. I don’t have much time to research right now, but wanted to do some fun fall things with the girls.

I’ve done this one from Martha, which we love…

… and that’s about it aside from the normal pumpkin and garland decorating.

So bring it on!  Give me your best!  Don’t let me down!  Go team!

( I may have gotten carried away there. Sorry)

How bout a rolled fabric flower Autumn wreath?

I am guessing you have TONS of extra leftover fabric that you could use to make into flowers:)

My daughter and I painted small pumpkins, acorn/butternut squash, and gourds with glue then covered them in red, brown and gold glitter. I think we saw the idea on Paper-Source. Made a pretty centerpiece on the table :)

This year, I filled large vases, candle holders, bowls, anything made of clear glass, with fake fruit and real nuts & acorns. Add some fall leaves from the dollar store and candles, then arrange them on a burlap runner. It looks beautiful and cost almost nothing. Here’s a photo : http://diane-freeman.blogspot.com/2010/08/i-was-told-i-could-rest-but-admonished.html

Also, cover a foam or straw wreath with hot glued acorns, keep it natural or spray it any color you like. For a photo go to http://www.dana-made-it.com/ (December 3, 2009 post, get it from her archives on the sidebar)

I plan on making these today to decorate our porch for Halloween. I also think they would be beautiful year round.

I’m loving the simple Sweater vase candle holders made from recycled sleeves and book page wreaths. I made the vases in about 20 minutes and my next project is the wreaths!
Here are a couple links of simple beautiful fall ideas from my favorite blogs:

I don’t have a picture- but a few years ago I did tiny sticks glued around baby food jars for small candle holders. I also tied some thin metal wire around a few times and then into a bow. Have fun!
