~ About Me ~

a
If you would have told me a couple years ago that instead of shopping Anthropologie regularly that I’d be sewing most of my and my daughters’ clothes, I would have told you that you were crazy!!

I’m a 30 year old stay at home mother to three wonderful daughters and the wife of a loving, sensitive and hard-working husband. I’ve always had the mentality that “I can do that!” Some times I succeed, sometimes I fail. But I try. And that’s why I’m here and what I want to share with you.

I sewed a little with my Grandmother growing up but got really into sewing a few years ago. I began with anything that was square that I could sew with a straight stitch. The more practice I got, the more ambitious my projects became. I try to reuse a lot of materials from the great bargains that I find at the thrift store and things I already have in my home. I think it’s a great way to save money, reuse what we already have and not waste.

I love designing and sewing. I love starting with an idea, getting what you need to make it then executing it and seeing your finished product. To me, there is nothing more satisfying. I hope that what you see here inspires you to do the same- to work hard for something and to be proud of your work.

You don’t need money, status or influence to create something of beauty or substance. You need heart.

aboutme_girls

“Home is a place where we welcome each family member with a sense of belonging. Home is a place where we are free to bring the fullness of our womanhood to bear in every sphere of our life. A woman’s place is in the heart- the heart of her husband, the heart of her children and the heart of her home. Home is a refuge we create for every family member.  Homemaking is a call to express fully our personhood and thereby enable every member of the family to understand his or her dignity and worth. I am the queen of my realm. I am the heart of my home.”
