Get a long piece of fabric, 1.5 times your child’s waist size. I made mine knee length. Sew the ends together.

With elastic thread, shirr the top of the dress. I went around and did it 3 times. Iron it after so it shrinks up.

Something I did was I cut the bottom of the skirt in an upside down “u” shape so it was longer on the side and shorter in the middle.

Then wear it. It’s that easy!

I know. You can’t even see the skirt that well. But my kids are way cuter. I promise.

I like these because they’re cute enough to dress up or wear as a swim cover up. Enjoy!

My sister gave me this cute old t-shirt of hers.

I cut  the straps at the seam.

This is a great way to use a stained shirt. I got this t that I had that had some weird stains on the front.

Put it inside the dress/shirt.

Then I turned it over and layed the straps where I wanted them. Pin them and sew the straps to the T, all the way around.

I took these blah buttons off…

…and added some more colorful ones.

And I’m done!

It’s been the perfect play dress.

I am a HUGE fan of Ashley’s Sienna Dress pattern I love reusing old clothes and I like how each piece comes out different. So I knew I had to enter this contest. I’ve done so mnay of her T-shirt dresses that I wanted to do one that was a little over the top, kids couture, if you will.

So I made the Cotton Candy Couture Dress.

I used her pattern and added these different kind of floral details with all different techniques.

A matching hair piece, of course!

I used a bunch of different t-shirts to make a striped skirt at the bottom. Then I added this pick-up where the tulle under layer shows.

Som of the layered flower detail. What I did is appliqued cotton pieces on top of the t-shirt. Then I made dimensional pieces to go on top. There are layered flowers with beads and buttons, chiffon petal flowers, tulle pom poms, and silk ribbon swags

Then on the sleeves I gathered it up the middle and added lace bows from on of the t-shirts I used.

Cut out  2 pieces of felt in the shape  of a football. You could do any ball. I just had lots of brown.

Add little white details for the laces.

Sew around the outside of the felt football, leaving a small opening.

Stuff them with dry beans, rice, or popcorn kernels.

Stitch the opening closed and you have little bean bag balls! I’m going to attach each boy’s name on a heart felt tag, too.
