Sweet Shoes
April 14, 2010 4:42 pmMy little Gigi has the sweetest pair of shoes that her Godmother gave her. I fell in LOVE with them when she gave them to her. “
Where did you get those?!” I said. And she told me about Mandi, the owner of Sweet Shoes, who just so happens to be local and go to my church! She’s the mom of three children and so kind and sweet! (and gorgeous!)
The shoes are flexible, comfortable, stylish and VERY reasonable! It’s all Gigi will wear!
Here are some of my favorite girl designs.

You can check out all the girls’s designs HERE.
And she’s got adorable ones for boys, too!
And check out her gigantic and impressive press page! She also has a blog that you can follow along with.
I’m sure a bunch of you have these already. But I love sharing about other mom’s who are fulfilling their dreams and have a wonderful product to share. Hope you love them as much as me and Gigi do!!

Crochet Trim and Harts Winner!
April 12, 2010 12:28 pmI have ALWAYS loved crochet and lacey trims on tops. I think they are so feminine and can make a t-shirt so much more exciting.
I have been trying to think about way you can find trim to add to tops. I found these great finds at the flea market this week. This great old doile…
…adn this crochet pillowcase.
I cut off a strip and sewed it on to this t-shirt. Isn’t it lovely?
All you do is pin it and stitch it directly on!
THEN!! I went in to Harts this week and found this!
They are selling an array of crochet bibs This was only $5! Think about this on a T! I don’t think they are on the website but if you call them I’m sure they can ship one to you! How beautiful is that?
Finally, the randomly chosen winner of a yard of fabric from Harts is….
Melissa Wingo!!
Keep checking their blog and website for ever changing fabrics, updates and giveaways!

Coco Bijou is here!-CLOSED
February 26, 2010 1:18 pmIf you know me by now, you know I have a thing for Forever 21 Jewelry. I love how you can get big, in-trend pieces for $5. But when it comes to simple pieces you can always tell when it’s cheap. There are certain pieces I would never skimp on. Those pieces are my classic, basic staples. I love the simplicity of gold bands , a long silver necklace with a small pendant, simple hoop earrings, and stacked rings. There are things that I wear every single day, that I get the most compliments on. Now enter:
For Christmas this year, I got these gold bangles from Coco Bijou- one for each year that I’ve been married. (My inspiration from Grieving Gracefully). I wear them every day and layer them with other things. They are my favorite pieces of jewelry and I love that, with God’s help, each year of marriage I get to add to this symbol.
You know how sometimes things look great online and they’re not so great in person? I can GUARANTEE that is NOT the case with CocoBijou. The quality and craftsmanship is amazing. For Christmas my siblings and I got my mom this gorgeous necklace.
It’s an imperfect gold oval with all of our names on it. My mom went crazy over it!
I had the hardest time picking out my favorite pieces from her store, but here are a few.
Apple Green Chalcedony Briolette Earings. They are so delicate yet the color has high impact.
Stardust Gathering Ring. I love how unique this one is!
Hammered Satin GOld Filled Hoop Earrings with Quartz Crystal Briolette

Oh, and honestly, she’s one of the NICEST women I’ve ever met on Etsy. She’s SO nice that she’s doing a giveaway. The winner will get to choose from:
Set of 4 STacked Gold RIngs (Jealous)
Hammered Gold Bangle Bracelet with CHarm (jealous again)
Indulgence Ring (even more jealous)
OR the Gold Circle Necklace (seething with envy)
The winner will be announced Thursday, March 4th.
To enter:
1. Leave a comment with your choice of gift.
2. Double entry for creating a link on your blog, facebook, twitter, etc… (let me know in your comment if you do that)
Good luck!

BIG Changes at My Mama Made It
November 9, 2009 9:20 pm
I’ve got a new logo and header! And for more news, within the next 6 weeks, I will be moving to a new site! I have a wonderful web designer(whom I’ll brag ALL about when the time comes) doing it all for me-Because again, I’m SOOOO bad at it
I’m really excited about upgrading!
Now, my talents have some SERIOUS limits. Because I was trying to do my own logo for a while, and let me tell you, it’s NOT my gift. So I got someone absolutely amazing to design my logo. The image you see is my new logo and will be on all my tags, etc… I labored long and hard about what my name would be. My friends and family came up with some really catchy stuff, but ultimately, it wasn’t me. I would ever be able to think of anything like that on my own, so I stuck with simplicity- my nickname. It’s short and sweet and not complicated. My next step was getting help executing my vision.
Beth, from Little Birdie Studio really impressed me. I loved all her designs and felt like she was the gal for me. She listened to me ideas, took them and ran with them! She came up with so many options for me to choose from. Check them all out!
I ended up choosing the “lex” with the needle and the thread and then she added the amazing image in the background of the vintage sewing pattern. She really exceeded my expectations.
Here are just a couple of the other logo’s she’s done.
She does GORGEOUS holiday cards…(I’m about to put my holiday order in)
…birthday invitations, announcements,
and wedding invitations.
In addition to that she does freelance custom design — logos, brochures, stationery and business cards, wedding and party invitations, posters, web design, etc…!!
She also loves sewing and makes these unbelievable carseat covers.
Beth worked with me in a really timely fashion and had so many creative ideas. She is my first sponsor and I’d love for you to check out her beautiful blog and her great etsy shop.
And just for Lex at My Mama Made It followers, she is giving 15% off using the coupon code LEX when you check out at her esty store! If you’re iterested in a custom order, you can email her for a quote and she’ll give you 15% off custom orders, too!! Just remember to mention you’re a Lex at My Mama Made It follower.
Please stop on by and take a look at her beautiful work!
