Leather Leggings?

August 21, 2010 1:54 pm

I’m slightly obsessed with “leather” leggings right now. I don’t have any because I always see them on someone and fall in love. Then I’ll got o check out a pair and they look so cheesy hanging there. Here’s an example.

Amazing. ( I know. It’s Giselle. Anything looks amazing)

Not Amazing.

Amazing.

Not Amazing.

And one more amazing.

Do you get my problem? I like them. Then I see them in person and I don’t like them.

What do you think about them? Have you found any that look great on?

Wardrobe Staples- Denim Cutoff Shorts

August 17, 2010 10:17 am

Denim cut off shorts. I’ve always loved them. I had them when I was a kid and I still have some now. (not the same pair :) )  You can have longer length ones or short ones. You can roll the hem or have them frayed. Almost anyway, they look great and they’ll be around forever.

I love them with a flowy top and heels.

I love them with plain old sandals.

But now that summer’s coming to and end, here’s some other ways to wear them. I love this way with thights, boots and a big, warm sweater.

Knee high stockings are huge this season and they look great with Wellies and a button up.

And here’s one more way with tights and heels (don’t like these giant boots, but think great black heels).  I love it with this loosely fitted T.

Make your own!

-What I did was go to the thrift store and got a pair of jeans for $3.

-I cut them off about an inch and a half below where I wanted the hem to fit. They’ll fray, remember.

-Then I used  my denim distressing techniques to distress them at the pockets and hems a little.

-Wash them a couple times for the ultimate look before you wear them.

Just don’t wear them with iceskates. It looks white trash. ( I learned the hard way)

Fashion Show Looks 6-10

August 16, 2010 1:20 pm

I can’t beleive I’ve forgotten to show you the rest of my fashion show. So here it is !

Look6: (my other sister modeling)

Round 1- This is a cocktail dress I made hand dyed in a gradient grey. It’s paired with grey sued flats and a leather sued bag by Nuala.

It’s the only pic I have of this one!

Look 8

Round 1- Thirfted lace top, black poofy skirt, cuff by Nuala and black heels

Round 2- necklace by Stipe, leather belt by Nuala(You have got to see closeups of this when I get them. It’s GORGEOUS!), grey socks and we reversed the skirt so the tulle showed.

Round 3- switched to a white tank and added ballerina socks

Look 7

There wasn’t any great consecutive shots of this on the runway so I though I’d share with you this picture that Paul Ferraddas took after the show in about two minutes. How amazing is this shot?!!

And I had to show you all the detail in the back, too, because it’s my favorite part. This one took a looong time!

(This dress is for sale)

Look 9

Round 1,2- I HAD to have a corchet dress in the show. I don’t know what it was. But the girls at Stripe found me this old one. It was very victorian to begin with. So I restructured it to create something more relevant. I don’t have a picture for look 1, but itw as without the socks and chains. We added those for round 2.

Round 3- I made this big poofy sleeve out of a vintage pieces of fabric. We changed the shoes and added more gold jewelry.

(this dress is for sale)

Look 10 (also my sister)

Round 1- This was my finale dress. I made it then hand dyed it in a gradient lilac. You can barely see, there is a small gathering at the hip, just like the one in look 6. e have it paired with a suede bag by Nuala and gold sandals.

Round 2- Horrible phone picture, but what we did was add a jeweled bustle by Stripe.

Round 3- No pictures, but it had a yellow petticoat made by the owner of Stripe, Suna and gold heels.

Oddly enough, I’ve sold 3 of these dresses. I thought this would be the last one to sell because it’s so fancy!
