Nautical Bib Front Top

March 25, 2010 8:30 am

I am totally loving all the nautical themed clothes and accessories right now. I wanted to make something a little more subtle, a little less navy/white and red. So I came up with this top.

Here’s How:

Stitch all the way around the bib…

Easy, right!? The only thing I did after was add some pleats around the bib. It didn’t look complete to me. But I think it looks nice either way! I love cream and grey together!

I like how it’s nautical themed, but won’t ever go out of subtle because it’s not TOO over the top. Like it?

See, I’m still doing tutorials! And due to popular vote, a dress one will be coming soon.

Have the loveliest day!!

Pockets Full of Gold Skirt

September 9, 2009 4:51 pm

I made this skirt last week. Here is my sister, Ana, wearing it for me.

This idea flashed in my head and HAD to go to my room to immediately make it.

It’s a navy blue, light canvas and it hits a few inches above the knee.

It has big, poofy pockets.

And inside the pockets I lined with a golden colored twill. (Hence the name.)
It’s like my own little secret.

I love a place to rest my hands.

Then when I thought I was done with the skirt I realized that it wasn’t quite finished. So I thought to add these tabs on the side with gold gentleman’s buttons. (Should have changed my serger thread to darker colored. rats!)

I’ve been wearing it with tall boots and a white shirt. I just love it.

It’s simple, classy and timeless. I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it.
