And Yet MORE shirt makeovers
September 16, 2009 1:01 pmIs everyone sick of these yet?
Here’s another tank that I just added some pretty fabric to for a simple updo.
I added another piece on the back collar.

I added another piece on the back collar.
I really like this one! I took small strips of fabric and bunched them then stitched over them three times.
It will continue to fray a little more as it washes. I love this deconstructed look.
I did it all the way around the back, too.
I took this lilac shirt and added some color and a lot of texture to it.
I took this golden linen and placed it on the edges.
Then I stitched over it randlomly a few times.
I did a similar texture addition here.
I pleated an pinned this raw edge cream cotton. Then I stitched over it.
It adds a lot of interest to the neckline.

Pockets Full of Gold Skirt
September 9, 2009 4:51 pmI made this skirt last week. Here is my sister, Ana, wearing it for me.
It’s a navy blue, light canvas and it hits a few inches above the knee.
Then when I thought I was done with the skirt I realized that it wasn’t quite finished. So I thought to add these tabs on the side with gold gentleman’s buttons. (Should have changed my serger thread to darker colored. rats!)
I’ve been wearing it with tall boots and a white shirt. I just love it.
It’s simple, classy and timeless. I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it.

Flower Pins
September 7, 2009 8:26 amMy daughter had this idea for a big flower on her shirt. So I made one of these for her an then decided to try it out in some other ways.
My sister, Ana, helped me out modeling them.
I love these as hair pins.
On a scarf.
I think it’s conventional to put it with a pretty cardigan or on a blazer, but I also love the way it looks on a more rock n’ roll shirt like this one. It’s more unexpected.
Here it is on a leather purse.
I saw something like this in a high fashion magazine, and it’s definitely more daring, but I LOVE it on the side of a leather boot.

Tank Top Shirt Refashion
August 24, 2009 2:13 pmHere are some more dolled up tops I did for my friend today.
Light, vintage-like ruffles on this soft, pink shirt.
A ruffled sleeve takes this basic tank up a notch. (or a few)

This next one is my favorite.
I bought this trim at Harts today. I couldn’t find it on their site, but if you call, they have it. It is so hard to tell from the pictures, but it is full of texture, elasticity and varied colors. I wrapped it all the way around the back of the neck. For whatever reason, I don’t like when ruffle stop at the top of the collar. I like when things go all the way around.

It makes this basic, black tank really elegant. I LOVE this trim on it!

Flower Shirt, Polka Dot Shirt
July 24, 2009 12:29 pmI’m at my parents today and discovered iPhoto. I’m in love with it! Then I went a little nuts and set up this photo shoot and had my sisters model some of the clothes I made recently. Here’s the purple flower shirt I made yesterday.

Here’s the back.
This is a shirt I made a while back, but I can’t remember if I ever posted pics of it.

Then since I was having so much fun on my “set” I made my youngest sister, Ana, put on this fabulous beaded skirt of my mom’s and I took a couple pics of her.

Isn’t this fun? I felt like a real photographer!! Let me know what you think of the shirts and the photos. I always love your comments!!!
