Friday Fall Fashion Puzzle
October 29, 2010 8:34 amThis week for our Fall Fashion feature, I wanted to feature someone new. My friend Mary always looks so stylish and adorable so I thought Id show you one of her outfits.
We paired this adorable denim chambray tunic dress with a waist cinching belt.
This orange sweater really brightens the whole look up.
Effortless boots complete the look.
For cooler days, tights would be great with this look! Thank you, Mary!!
Don’t know if you noticed, the site has been updated a little. I hope you like the new look! Feel free to browse around. You can see recent press for Made by Lex, see my updated About Me page, and easily navigate through all the different categories on the left hand side. As always, if you have any tips or comments for easier navigation or any features you’d like to see, please let me know! I’d love to hear your feedback!

I Conquered the Pants
October 20, 2010 4:23 pmOh greatest joy of my life. Ok, There’s a few others that were better. The usuals- having kids, getting married.. . But after those, making pants follows.
I made these pants out of a thick black knit that wool. I wanted them to be right above the ankle. I love that perfect length. It’s so enchanting with both heels and flats. I also made a stitch detail down the front and back.I think it really elongates the look and adds interest.

These are the kind of pants I want to wear every day. They are dressy because of the great fabric and they are beyond comfortable. This picture sums up how I feel about them:

Fall Fashion Puzzle
September 24, 2010 8:17 amI wanted to start a new feature that I’m going to post about on Fridays. I love the season of Fall and I love dressing for Fall. There are endless options but I think a lot of times we get stuck in the same ruts of the season. It’s easy to just throw on the same sweater and jacket and not think about the layering options of it all. You can change your look so easily by doing more layering and of things you already have. To me, styling for Fall is like putting together a puzzle. So I hope you’re inspired by this new series to try new things that you may already have.
I also really wanted to use things I already had to show you. I love places like polyvore, but most of the items are designer items that are waaay out of my budget. I wanted to inspire you to work with what you have, maybe adding a few new fall items, but just being re-inspired not tempted for more more more.
So let’s begin! Today’s outfit is a striped top, black blazer, a long black skirt, boots, a bright bag and a large knit scarf. (The scarf is almost like a collar. I wear it ALL the time!)
I love the bold watch with this outfit and the pop of the bright bag. Without the redbag, I think this would be quite boring. I also have a striped tank layered under the striped top. it elongates it without adding a totally different element.
I looovvee boots with a long skirt.
I like all the different layers of this look. You could easily have just done with top with the skirt, but it wouldn’t have looked as interesting or as stylish.Have a great weekend!!

Fall Fashion- Part 3
August 10, 2010 7:32 amYou’ve all seen my long skirt before. We used it for the shoot for an evening look. I paired it with a classic button up blouse. It’s one more reason why I love a great white blouse. It can be so casual with jeans or dress up a high waisted skirt.
I’m sorry. There’s a lot of pictures. I just couldn’t decide which ones to show you all! I loved them all. These are the kind of pictures that make me want that outfit and make me want to be wherever she is and do whatever she’s doing.
This one was in the magazine but it was in black and white so it lost it’s great feel.
Check out Nuala‘s cuff. She gets her leather cuffs then adds vintage pieces on them. It’s one of my favorite accessories.
More fall fashion to come tomorrow!
