More Shirt Makeovers/Refashion

September 15, 2009 1:41 pm

This is another shirt that I did for my friend. I feel like black is hard to refashion because other prints don’t look great with it, and finding a matching black is hard. So I took this shirt and added a removable floral pin. It is in vintage silk.
I love the two of them sitting there. And you can take it off and move it in other places on the shirt or on a different place, all together.

They have a slight sheen to them and I used this gold fabric for the center.

Sadly, I don’t think this next one is going to show as cool as it is in person. I took this grey shirt and cut up patching grey jersey.

I twirled, pinned, twirled more, placed strips, stabbed myself, put on a bandaid, twirled more… you get the picture. It was extremely labor intensive but I think it came out soooo neat.

I stitched over all the pieces a few times to create a mulit-dimensional look.

Then I wrapped it around the back ever so slightly. The shirt is on it’s side here. I really love this one.

Tank Top Makeover

August 23, 2009 1:45 pm

I have a friend, who is pregnant, and asked me to vamp up a few tank tops and shirts for her. I’m going to be doing them throughout the week so I thought I’d post them. They are some ideas I came up with to doll up simple tops.

I added a bib front with a ruffle out of an Anna Maria Horner fabric that I love.
Simple and lovely.

Another Version of the Jersey Ruffle Refashion

July 31, 2009 7:48 pm

So after I finished all my other projects today the girls were still asleep and I got to work on another shirt. I used a grey J. Crew thermal that I had. Then I added a bit of another shirt I had in my refashion pile. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I need to hold myslef back from making 100 of these. I was even thinking they’d be cute in the winter over a plain white T, under a jacket.
The back. I think the fact that the ruffle goes all the way around the collar is why I love it so much.

I’d love to see your creations or versions on this one!
