Fashion Show Looks 6-10
August 16, 2010 1:20 pmI can’t beleive I’ve forgotten to show you the rest of my fashion show. So here it is !
Look6: (my other sister modeling)
Round 1- This is a cocktail dress I made hand dyed in a gradient grey. It’s paired with grey sued flats and a leather sued bag by Nuala.
It’s the only pic I have of this one!
Look 8
Round 1- Thirfted lace top, black poofy skirt, cuff by Nuala and black heels
Round 2- necklace by Stipe, leather belt by Nuala(You have got to see closeups of this when I get them. It’s GORGEOUS!), grey socks and we reversed the skirt so the tulle showed.
Round 3- switched to a white tank and added ballerina socks
Look 7
There wasn’t any great consecutive shots of this on the runway so I though I’d share with you this picture that Paul Ferraddas took after the show in about two minutes. How amazing is this shot?!!
And I had to show you all the detail in the back, too, because it’s my favorite part. This one took a looong time!
(This dress is for sale)
Look 9
Round 1,2- I HAD to have a corchet dress in the show. I don’t know what it was. But the girls at Stripe found me this old one. It was very victorian to begin with. So I restructured it to create something more relevant. I don’t have a picture for look 1, but itw as without the socks and chains. We added those for round 2.
Round 3- I made this big poofy sleeve out of a vintage pieces of fabric. We changed the shoes and added more gold jewelry.
(this dress is for sale)
Look 10 (also my sister)
Round 1- This was my finale dress. I made it then hand dyed it in a gradient lilac. You can barely see, there is a small gathering at the hip, just like the one in look 6. e have it paired with a suede bag by Nuala and gold sandals.
Round 2- Horrible phone picture, but what we did was add a jeweled bustle by Stripe.
Round 3- No pictures, but it had a yellow petticoat made by the owner of Stripe, Suna and gold heels.
Oddly enough, I’ve sold 3 of these dresses. I thought this would be the last one to sell because it’s so fancy!

Fall Fashion Edition- Part Two
August 6, 2010 8:57 amOk, moving on! Here’s the second look we did for each model.
(Follow down for giveaway information!)
For whatever reason, this is totally one of my favorites. Clare is wearing a Mr. Larkin Thea top, Monrow black heather fleece shorts, Nuala leather watch, Donni Charm scarf, Target tights, vintage motorcycle boots.
I love these shorts. I WANT these shorts!
Here’s a close up of the Donni Charm scarf in coral and the amazing Nuala watch, just like mine.
Dez is wearing my Lex Striped Top, Level 99 pants wide leg pants, a Blank Verse necklace, and August Mae rings.
Here it is with my transforming wool cape. You can really see the August Mae rings well, here!
I love it hooded, too!
Look at the detail on this Blank Verse necklace!
I can’t wait to do a post on Gina Bokariza, the hair stylist from Urban Groove. She transformed each look and made it unbelievable! More on that to come.

The Good Times Fall Fashion Edition
August 5, 2010 8:08 amFirst off, I was MAJORLY hacked in to. So I’m so sorry for any inconveniences. Everything should be up and running now.
I was really honored when The Good Times asked me to style and photograph their fall fashion edition that hits the stands today. There is a mini version online, but I really wanted to share my favorite pictures with you from the day. Here are the first looks for each model.
Clare is wearing the Lex nautical sweatshirt (almost available for sale), Good Society jeans, misc. sweater, Donni Charm scarf, August Mae ring Nuala leather bag and Nuala leather wrapped wool socks (my FAVORITE thing for fall) and vintage boots.
Here’s a closeup of the socks. You will be seeing these on me every day.
I put all these together because it’s a multi-layered look that can be changed easily and the grey and cream to me are so classic and chic. I also like this look but I think it can appeal to any age group.
For Dez, I wanted to carry in the military theme that’s still pushing strong and pair it with a sweet floral print. She’s wearing a floral print dress from Stripe, misc. military jacket, August Mae Ring, Good Society jeans, Blank Verse earrings and vintage heels.
The magazine ended up choosing this as the cover shot.
And may I PLEASE give you a closeup of Blank Verse’s uuuhh–maazing earings! They are show stopeers.

Fashion Show Looks 1-5
July 20, 2010 8:08 amWhen Stripe first approached me about the idea of the fashion show, I was thrilled and intimidated all at the same time. We had about 2 month to put it together. Maybe 2 month for a designer with no children would have been feasible, but since I’m a stay at home mom of three with tons of summer activities looming around the corner, I didn’t know how I could put together a 10 look show. The cost was also daunting! Think about all the fabric it takes for one dress then think about 10 looks! So the solution we came up was to reuse pieces to help with time and money. So you’ll see that as I describe each look.
As I’ve said before, the concept was “The Thistle in the Kiss”. We wanted portray pure beauty, then have each look progress to a more roughed up look, yet still beautiful. So each model came down 3 times and the looks were styled progressively to display that concept. The hair and makeup also changed each time down. You should have seen the madness backstage!
Look1:
Round 1- Tina wore a thrifted white leather skirt with a black top I made. It was heavily textured in the front and back. She also wore one of Nuala’s black leather cuffs with vintage jewels on it and a pair of grey suede wedges.
Round 2- we reversed the shirt so the back was low and added these chains draping the back.
Round 3- we added a clutch, boots, and a ruffled bustle.
Look2:
I found this amazing dress at the thrift store. I liked the bottom of it. So I took apart the top and redid with different fabrics so it gathered to one side. Then I added the piece I made at the shoulder, then altered the bottom to add more fabric and shape. It’s paired with wood heels.
Round 2- We added one of Nuala’s leather cuffs, an AMAZING bag she made and boots.
Round 3- Added a suede vest, lace and chain sleeve and thick wool socks.
