I am over the moon excited about these new designs I’m adding for summer. I love the simple asymmetry of them and thing they’re super chic for a simple tank.

The first is done in a cream jersey with a brown leather detail at the shoulder.

The back has a pleat for a soft, flowing detail.

The second color is a slate blue with a cream leather detail.

I also have it in a navy and white striped knit with brown leather.

All of these new designs, plus many more will be available for the first time at my trunk show at Stripe.

Where:  Stripe 107 Walnut Ave. Downtown Santa Cruz

When: Thursday, April 22, 5-8pm

Hors D’oeuvres and cock tails will be served, so come down town to Stripe to celebrate with us!

I will be selling  tshirts, tank tops,  my new line of kids t-shirts, dresses, skirts and lots of new designs for summer! I’d love for anyone to come by , see my new things and meet me! I’ll be selling my things at special prices, too!

Tuxedo Tank Tutorial

March 15, 2010 10:22 am

Happy Monday! Here’s a quick little tank you can easily do!  I’m still taking requests for the Anthropologie tutorial series, but I thought I’d do a little something in between.  I was inspired by this shirt from Anthropologie:

And this is how my version came out:

I started of with this old shirt.

I cut off the sleeves and sewed them under.

Now, take your extra sleeves and cut into some thin strips.

I also used two other fabrics I had. Here’s the cast for my shirt…

Ruffle ‘em up.

Now for the placment: I started with the same fabric ruffles as my shirt and pinned it around the collar and down the center. Pin and sew.

Take the next strip. Pin and sew.

Take the next one… you get the picture!

Here’s my final product.

Now you’ve got an easy tank thats a GREAT layering piece.

Have a wonderful day!!

Paper Bag Waist Skirt and Pleated Top

February 22, 2010 8:18 pm

Here are another couple pieces that I’ve designed. I know you saw this outfit in our Christmas shoot this year,

,but I still wanted to shoot my sister in it so you could see it better.

Here is my paper bag waist skirt and Peach Pleated Top.

The top is a peachy pink vegetable dyed  cotton by Vera Wang. It’s, hand down, one of my favorite fabrics that I’ve worked with.  I did this pleats down the front and the neckline with some fold over detailing, then some buttons.

The top V’s in the back and has a small, slimming closure.

The skirt is a super soft yarn died linen with a paper bag waist and black cotton tie and with the same black cotton detailing at the bottom.

It also has pockets.

This skirt is the best! I wear it all the time and its fashionable and comfortable.

Love her in this shot.

Here’s where you can help me out again!!

Your feedback means a lot to me and I’d love to hear any thoughts about either pieces or the shoot, in general.  Also, would either of these pieces be somehting you’d buy or want to see in the etsy store?

Please take a moment and let me know your thoughts! It really helps me out!

Tank Top Shirt Refashion

August 24, 2009 2:13 pm

Here are some more dolled up tops I did for my friend today.
Light, vintage-like ruffles on this soft, pink shirt.
A ruffled sleeve takes this basic tank up a notch. (or a few)

This next one is my favorite.
I bought this trim at Harts today. I couldn’t find it on their site, but if you call, they have it. It is so hard to tell from the pictures, but it is full of texture, elasticity and varied colors. I wrapped it all the way around the back of the neck. For whatever reason, I don’t like when ruffle stop at the top of the collar. I like when things go all the way around.

It makes this basic, black tank really elegant. I LOVE this trim on it!

Tank Top Makeover

August 23, 2009 1:45 pm

I have a friend, who is pregnant, and asked me to vamp up a few tank tops and shirts for her. I’m going to be doing them throughout the week so I thought I’d post them. They are some ideas I came up with to doll up simple tops.

I added a bib front with a ruffle out of an Anna Maria Horner fabric that I love.
Simple and lovely.
