Sweater Vest Refashion Tutorial

This one is too easy. Seriously.
I love the sweater vest look.

We’re going to make this one! (Isn’t it cuter, if I do say so myself?)
I got this sweater at my thrift store for $1.50.
We need to cut the sleeves off. I cut them right inbetween the seam where they are attached. That way it won’t unravel.
Cut both of them off. I didn’t need to finish the edges on mine, but if you do there are a couple ways you can do it. ONE: Fold the seam under and stitch it with your machine. TWO: Find some cool bias tape and attach that. You can even hand stitch it with embroidery thread for a very Free People look!

Cut the sleeves open.
After cutting them open cut the sleeves in half.

Trim them so they are equal width.
Sew them together. Depending on your waist size, you may need three or four strips.

Here is the finished product.

I love how the shoulders flare a bit.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
