New at Lex Designs
April 7, 2011 3:56 pmI’ve got a couple new designs in the store.
First is this light denim skirt with pockets.
It has a great pleating detail at the bottom. It’s the perfect blank canvas for spring’s wardrobe.
Next is the breezeway blouse in a coral and navy chevron stripe.
It has an open back detail with a small gold button closure.
Go check them out and all my other new items in my etsy store!
Happy Thursday!

New for Fall- The Striped Lex Top
July 26, 2010 9:42 amThis is one of my first new designs for fall- the striped Lex top.
It’s based off of the nautical sweatshirt that I did. I wanted something dressier, yet still comfortable. It’s a thicker knit in black and cream striped fabric.
It has a slightly wider neckline so you can wear it off the shoulder if you’re feeling in the mood to do so.
It has a kangaroo pocket with two vintage buttons.
And meet my new FAVORITE accessory, the DonniCharm scarf. Just check out their website and see their great basic scarves and read the lovely story behind them. Then see their press page. They’re EVERYWHERE. I live in mine.
They have the cutest charms on them and you can customize yours. It adds a little something extra.
It’s for sale in my shop. I only have a few in this great fabric! It’s great to dress up with black skinny pants and heels, or with your favorite pair of jeans. I love versatile pieces!

Aqua Bib front Top Refashion
June 14, 2010 3:13 pmHere’s a refashion that’s super easy that adds a lot of texture and interest to a plain top!
Here’s How:
Cut some strips of fabric. Mine were about 2.5 inches wide.
Ruffle them on each side of the strip.

Shirred Front Top- A Lex Refashion Tutorial
June 8, 2010 4:12 pmI love tops like these from Anthropologie with all the heavy texture on them.
I’ve also checked out “The Art of Manipulating Fabric” by Colette Wolff from the library and it’s really inspired me to try some new texturing techniques.
So I thought I’d start with this style top with shirring with a gathering foot. Honestly, I’ve never used my gathering foot. I don’t have any idea why!! So here goes!
